Matter of fact, if I were superstitious, I'd swear I was meant to go back to Kansas City.
Got a sweeeeeet deal on an apartment, $500 knocked off the first month's rent, and $100 lower rent payments for the duration of my 12 mo. lease. Basically I'm getting a 2 bedroom, 975 sq ft, snazzy apartment for about the cost of a 1 bedroom oh-hum apartment in that part of town.
Fire place with a stone surround, washer & dryer, vaulted ceilings, nice kitchen (eh, a breakfast bar and a pantry makes it -slightly- nicer than average), HUGE closets, big linnen closet, coat closet, I even like the color of the carpet (and normally I hate wall to wall carpet), well insulated, ranch style (nobody above or below me), and cat pleaser 18" window sills (made out of that Corian stuff they make bathroom sinks out of) in the Master and Living rooms.
Like I said -- SWEEEEEET!
Ah well. Only a year. Then we hope to have enough saved back, and the coaching of a friend that knows how, to afford to buy a HUD house...
