I just started as an onsite cal tech for JDSU... My mgr has said we may be hireing another in a couple of monthes... RF experience and pmel needed...

Jim and Terry, you represent a good part of the spectrum problem. Everybody seems to want to hire technical people with 20+ years of experience who've been in the field less than 5 years. <g>

I've had several good interviews but they always "go south" when the interviewer finds out I've got 25 years of experience. I even had one close up the interview by assuring me I'd "had a career anyone would be proud of." Past tense, as in "your time's up, Grampaw."

Hello, I'm Jim. I've been a technician for 31 years.
12 years as an RF calibration tech, the remainder as a
test/debug tech seeing various amounts of analog/digital/RF circuitry. I,like everybody else in the group is looking for a job. I like the debug end
of it, myself, because of the challenge. Because so many
companies contract their work, it's hard to find a good
bench tech job these days.

Hello, everyone. My name is Terry Wert; I am looking for a job in electrical engineering. I could really use some help here as I am having a terrible time in my job search. I only have one and a half years of experience in my field, so no one wants to hire me. I could use all the help that I could get.
