$-$$-$$$

Small restaurant with trendy decor and great traditional Japanese food and sushi. You can order a la carte, or choose from a selection of preset combinations. The dinner menu is quite large, and as a perk, contains photos of nearly every item. Please note: this is not a hibachi-style restaurant.

This is the only Japanese restaurant I know of that will serve shabu-shabu or sukiyaki on the spot. Most other places I've been to you can only order those on weekends, or give them a day's notice.

This place is fast becoming one of my favorites. I've eaten there several times, usually for lunch, and never been disappointed. I usually order one of their bento boxes, since you can try a little bit of everything. They also have good katsu-don and a wide variety of sakes to try. If you're in the Norcross area, please stop by and check them out!

Over the weekend, I went with a few friends to the Decatur Wine Festival. They have lots of local restaurants there giving away samples to munch on in between tastings.

We all agreed: the best samples were from a restaurant called Wahoo! Grill, on College Ave. They gave out mussels in a sherry cream sauce, and cheddar grits covered with spicy tomato sauce and shrimp. Both were outstanding!

If any of you get a chance, please check them out, and be sure to come back and leave a review: http://www.wahoogrilldecatur.com/

LOVE Brickstore. Its one of the few places I know of where you can get chips the same as you'd get if you were in London. Great recommendation Jonathan!

As for Mimi's, I've never been but will make it a point to soon. I don't live too far from there and it sounds yummy. Thanks Ilene :)

I have to recommend the Brick Store Pub in Decatur, GA. If you are traveling north from the airport, it is a bit east of your path, but well worth it if you are a beer fan. It has been ranked as the 15th best place in America to have a beer.

The highlight, in my opinion, is the Belgian room in which there are 8 rotating draughts and over 120 Belgian or Belgian style beers available.

Food prices are typical for pub food ($), but you'll pay a bit for the higher quality beers.

Went for Saturday morning breakfast at Mimi's Restaurant right near the Perimeter Mall (Dunwoody). It was my first time there for breakfast.

Mimi's has a huge breakfast menu including eggs, omelettes, muffins, quiche, french toast and several "benedicts."

My selection was the two eggs with cheese, juice, lemon cream cheese muffin and red potatoes. It was quite good... the muffin was very moist and the price was $5.99 for the platter with the juice.

The service was pleasant and prompt! Not-too-loud jazz music was playing in the background and it was an enjoyable morning. I would recommend Mimi's for breakfast.
