I agree with Ruth. I'd love to make what I'm worth but right now, happier doing what makes me feel fulfilled.

Show me the money, Show me the Money $$$$ I remember that line from a movie about a football star. I forgot the name of the movie, but, I do believe Jerry Macguire was the name of it with Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding if my memory serves me correctly.

I have never gone along with the phrase, job=just over broke. What about productivity, contribution, and purpose???
And Steven, like I said, a raise is always something we would welcome and it certainly makes things easier:)

the issue is not true happiness. It's about hapiness from a raise. Do I find tru happiness in money? No. Would I be happy with more. Yes

There is a commercial on television now, Name 5 things you like about your job. Think about that! Count your blessings you have a job, yes i know job = JUST OVER BROKE!

Monetary value makes things easier in life, but I think true happiness goes deeper than that. Obtaining a bigger salary will not necessarily make you "happy". It will help lubricate some of life's hardships, but internal happiness and contentment usually comes from within. Let's face it, a raise is always welcomed. But if you don't like what you do, will the increased money matter???

You are already doing something you don't like so a raise only adds to the pro of that job you don't like

I would disagree...if it's a job I hate, I would only be happy on paydays, which would be twice a month...making that 24 days out of the year.
I think you need a good balance of pay and job to really be happy.
