Yeah a lot of calls that I have tried to make or go on is just a bad time for people and they tell me to eitehr call back or come back in January...but it's good b/c i have about 20 prospects to hit up after Jan. 1st

OK people what are you doing to prepare for 2009? You need to sit down and map our your personal and professional goals. It's been proven that the people who write down their goals are 78% more likely to succeed. So don't fool yourself. If your not willing to take the time to think about how your going to get to where you want to go then your just wasting your time. Take a trip without knowing the roads to take it might be easier...

You should always evalute the last sale to see how you could have improved to get the sale.

With the problems that are going on around us I encourage everyone to limit the amount of negativity we expose ourselves to. It’s not to be ignorant to the problems but, monitor what you’re taking in from the media and filling your mind with.

I do suggest you get your daily (small) dose of CNN, CNBC etc. but DO NOT over dose in the news. We must continue to live our lives in a positive manner and influence others. Too much negativity can put the mind in a spiral down and it can be hard to pull out of it.

There are 2 thinks you should not focus on;

-Things that are out of your control
-Fear/worry

They will prevent you from meeting your life goals.

I can afford to loose money but not my happiness.

You need to sell the best you. Which means you should ask the right questions pertaining to the employers business such as,
How can I add the best value to your company?
What is it I can do that will make me the best employee?

This shows that your interested in how you can help rather then asking. What are the hours, how many days off do I get. These are questions that benefit YOU not the company. As for to many applicant, that could be but when your done ask the interviewer what he thought was your weakness and strength. You'll know right then how you stand.

There are many people looking for employement. I shared with client that they need to be hanlding this just like the sale of a product but, the product is YOU. To maximize your potential here are just a few tips;

-Never seem like you need the sale (job)
-Always make the interview more about the employer and how you could help (not about what you need).
-Ask plenty of leading questions-Describe the perfect candidtate-What did you find in my experiance,skills that made you interested in me-How do you think I would fit into the organization?
-Be in control.

Are you providing your clients free consulting in hopes to get the next order/job? This is a clasic sales stratergy and old school method of selling. During the sales process it always should be a "give and take" process. If they ask for information you should get something in return. For instance:

Client: When can you deliver?
Salesmen: Tell me, when do you need it?
Client: Next Tuesday?
Salesmen:That is soon but, if I can deliver are there any other objections why you would not buy and if not can I put you down for an order?

You never reveal all your cards because the client can use this against you. The idea is to maintain your margin and not give anything (your time, money) away.
