State Government project, California emergency levee repair. Project 2.5 levee site, Hood, California, Southern California's water supply from the source in Northern California. Native habitat restoration, irrigation, construction, and water-wise landscaping. Environmental protection and stewardship including erosion control (minimizing erosion and sediment transportation into water supply and salmon and steelhead spawning beds), stream bank protection utilizing traditional, geotechnical and bioengineering methods (irrigation systems, geotextile erosion control fabric, and planting beneficial stream bank vegetation), protecting endangered species (the Valley Elderberry Beetle, Nighthawk, Giant Garter Snake, Delta Smelt, Chinook Salmon and Steelhead Trout) and protecting archeological resources.
