I was born and raised in Berlin, Germany, where I worked in a grocery store, as a building superintendent, as a machine operator for Gillette and as a gardener for the Berlin government in addition to other temporary jobs. When the U.S.Army left Berlin in 1994 I moved with my former husband to Illinois.
