Throughout his college education, David Driscoll has exhibited passion for the Greek and Latin languages, an interest that later translated into a career. His enthusiasm first began when he majored in Greek and earned his Bachelor’s degree at Vassar College. Under professors Day, Kitzinger, Pounder, Barron, and others, he quickly developed a passionate interest in Greek history and culture, and decided to spend a summer working in Athens, Greece, as an Associate Member for the American School of Classical Studies.
Years later, he repeatedly studied at Greek and Roman archeological sites and museums throughout Greece, Italy, France, Turkey and Spain, all to further his education. After completing his undergraduate coursework, Driscoll was accepted to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he immersed himself in a program leading to a Ph.D. in Classics with an historical emphasis.
For the past decade, Dr. David Driscoll has taught widely in the world of academia, both Latin and Greek, at various schools along the eastern seaboard. These include the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, and more recently at the Green Farms Academy.
Greens Farms Academy is a well-known coeducational day school, founded in 1925, with the land originally settled in 1732. The school lies among the beautiful woodlands of Connecticut and boasts beautiful views of Long Island Sound, salt marsh, and acres of Audubon woodlands.
