I would characterize myself as a psycho-pharmacologist -- a psychiatrist with expertise in/emphasis on the biological contributors to mental health-related issues. This includes psycho-pharmacologic management of mood/anxiety/psychotic/cognitive/eating/substance use disorders, psychiatric issues resulting from complex medication (drug-drug) interactions, and/or psychiatric side-effects of non-psychotropic medications. I commonly treat more complex and treatment-resistant cases and enjoy the challenge of finessing a positive outcome.
