About Me

"I have been out of the workforce for some time but I have been preparing myself to pursue the next step in actively looking for employment within an organization.

I'm enrolled in studies with Penn Foster School I have been continuing my studies to complete and finalize the requirements to earn my HSD.

As a stay at home spouse my daily responsibilities are to coordinate and conduct household functions. The skills I have developed maintaining a budget, scheduling, & prioritizing have prepared me to assume a position within most office environments. I'm a dedicated worker that is highly organized.

My goal is to secure employment and to return to formal schooling and pursue a degree in the field of Medical Office Assisting. I have initially started those studies, and will resume them as I have completed my HSD studies.

I believe you are never to old to learn, "It's good to keep
your mind active to set goals for yourself and to work daily at accomplishing them".

Im an easy going person with a good attitude who enjoys learning and doing whatever is required to see the task completed. I can function in either environment alone or as a teamplayer. Inclusive to showing that I can conduct myself in a respectful manner, and to also communicate in an adult like fashion.

I appreciate that you have taken a look at my profile.
Respectfully,
Deb Mills

Work Experience

  • Apr 1990 - Jun 1991
    honolulu, HI (US)
    Office Services/Receptionist
    Pacific Guardian Life Insurance Company
My position within the Office Services department has allowed me to become familiar with the functions of operating an office effectively. I have gained skills to function in most office environments. Customer Service is actually my calling.

I was hired as an Office Clerk and gained the skills needed to process most of the mail for Pacific Guardian Life Insurance Co. I also was responsible for receiving the company's incoming mail. Sorting and then distributing all daily incoming mail to the various departments and personnel

Later I was presented the opportunity to be trained and fill the position of Receptionist. This position was the foundation for my Customer Service training. I am a personable and facilitating employee. Knowledgeable in many aspects of service to operate an office with accuracy and integrity.

As my profile reflects "Im a individual that is very-helpful and strives to continually learn. I also display a very respectful and encouraging attitude. I am well accepted by my peers personally and within many business organizations.

    Chapter 1 Reading Tutor
    Lincoln Elementary School (in Honolulu)
Chapter 1: Was a reading program in the elementary school level that I had worked with as a Reading Tutor. The program had been funded by the U.S. Federal Government, the program (Chapter 1) targeted children who were in need of gaining better skills in reading. I was an assistant to the teachers and had accompanied them to many conferences and workshops; I also read a lot of books with the children

I enjoyed working with the children and being able to take an active roll in helping them to learn new skills that would allow them to read with understanding and confidence.

Temporarily worked for this video store and did some data-entry work updating customer files. Also did some customer service type duties that included: signing out rental videos to customers, handling money transactions/rendering change to customers, opening/closing the video store.

This was a temporary position but a good opportunity to practice my customer service skills.
