Job Angels and Job Seekers,

Good morning and welcome to November 2009. We moderators are interested in helping you be prepared for an effective job search, and for that reason, I'd like to have some help from our membership...

Are there any groups on Brightfuse that have been helpful with advice on your job search, or are there websites outside of Brightfuse that have provided some outstanding information? How about sharing those with the others on this group?

Here are some groups on JobAngels that may be helpful
* Global Job Central
http://www.brightfuse.com/Groups/--global-job-central
(great resource for tips for the job seeker)

Resume Questions and Answers By An Expert  http://www.brightfuse.com/Groups/r%C3%A9sum%C3%A9-questions-and-answers-by-an-expert
(resource site that offers the advice from a Certified Resume Writer)

Help Me Find A Job
http://www.brightfuse.com/Groups/help-me-find-a-job---
(Free advice from an expert specializing in executive job searches)

What are some other groups you would recommend to those who are seeking work?

(Suggested by Shawn)
Concepts of Networking
http://www.brightfuse.com/Groups/concepts-of-networking
(good website to focus on networking issues - note that Shawn used his technique to land a new job)

Career One Stop (Suggested by Joyce Bagley)

Resource for the unemployed to see if they qualify for training funds provided by the US Government.

Lumosity (suggested by Joye Briggs)
www.lumosity.com

Just make sure you read the member TOS carefully so that you don't agree to be e-mailed for any partnership offers.

I've found my group "Concepts of Networking" to be a great source of information and resources. I've had several people from that group review both my resume and BF profile and critique them. Also, the members of the group post articles of importance (or links to them) that help with the job search, resume writing, cover letter writing and other topics. Job leads/job-sites are posted on a regular basis as well as various topics for discussion.

Shawn,

Excellent Resource! I'm going to add that to our list of suggested sites for our group. As networking is one of the key ways nowadays to find work, any tips or resources to help us learn networking, definitely is appreciated.

Shawn's group can be found at: http://www.brightfuse.com/Groups/concepts-of-networking

Hey Joye, are you going to start a separate forum to post jobs on? Or should I post jobs to your sticky topic about the guidelines?

Post away in the November 2009 Job Opportunities thread.

We'll be placing the guidelines as the first post in each monthly thread, but after this month, it won't be part of the job title.
