I do all aspects of the purchasing such as ordering, creating purchase orders and follow up on orders and any discrepancies in pricing and delivery. Included in my duties are purchasing all company supplies and material related to production and custom equipment for the infra-red heating markets; including reducing and monitoring inventory, increasing inventory turns, negotiating prices and sourcing new items for R&D. I update and create all BOM's, open and close jobs, create and update part numbers in the computer system. I am also responsible for shipping all UPS small packages. From 2003 to present, I have averaged inventory turns to 12 times per year by instituting a Kan-Ban system, while adding 3 new product lines to the mix. In the course of implementing Kan Ban and Lean Manufacturing, I have reduced total expenses by 20% in the first quarter of 2009 and have dropped inventory costs by $35,000. Currently, I am under this year’s budget by 7% over last year. I am a member of the lean manufacturing management team and I answer to the financial controller of the company.
