Martin Sands is the Co-Founder, Co-Chairman and Senior Portfolio Manager of Sands Brothers Asset Management. He has held this position since the company’s establishment in 1999. Martin Sands and his company provide advisory services and manage investments for a global client base.
Martin Sands’ current work is primarily centered in two areas: asset management and real estate investment. He launched the Select Access LLC fund in 2001 and undertook several high value real estate endeavors including the acquisition, renovation, and sale of 500,000 square feet of commercial space. Additional investments made by Martin Sands include late stage venture capital funding aimed at maximizing potential growth and profitability for a host of promising companies.
Prior to founding Sands Brothers Asset Management, Martin Sands worked at Shearson American Express, Inc. Mr. Sands moved on to a position with national investment boutique Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. It was here that Martin Sands first gained experience managing the funds of high net worth investors. Martin Sands furthered his professional financial experience by taking on a role with the investment bank Laidlaw, Adams, and Peck. He was also involved in opening the NYC office of investment bank Rodman & Renshaw.
A graduate of Union College in Schenectady, New York, Martin Sands earned his undergraduate degree in political science. Outside of his numerous business responsibilities, Martin Sands is an avid lacrosse player and youth lacrosse advocate. Married with four children, Martin Sands enjoys spending time with his family and is active in numerous charitable endeavors.
Residing in Greenwich, Connecticut, Martin Sands currently splits his time between the Greenwich and Park Avenue Offices of Sands Brothers Asset Management.
