With more than 26 years of experience in the health care industry, Michael Mihora leads healthcare institutions to their next level of financial success, patient service, and support. Currently the Medical Group Practice Administrator of Alii Health Center, Michael Mihora recruits top-quality physicians to Alii Health, a subsidiary of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, to treat the people of West Hawaii more efficaciously. In just over two years with Alii Health Center and Kona Community Hospital, Michael Mihora has expanded volume and budget operations.
Michael Mihora played an instrumental role in forming Alii Health for the purpose of employing physicians and managing their practices to improve patient care for the West Hawaii region. During this time, Michael Mihora achieved growth that brought Alii Health to operate 6 locations with an annual budget of $5.5 million. Michael Mihora also organized 33 employees, 3 mid-level providers, and 11 physicians of Alii Health’s complete care services. Most recently, Michael Mihora has participated in spearheading efforts to build an Ambulatory Surgery Center, located in West Hawaii.
For four years, Michael Mihora served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Cheboygan Memorial Hospital in Michigan. Michael Mihora oversaw a community medical center worth more than $85 million in annual revenues; during his tenure, the center saw its most financially successful year since opening. Heading new construction efforts, including a 43,000 square foot medical office building, Michael Mihora made accommodations for the new space by recruiting 18 new full-time positions. As Michael Mihora expanded the hospital’s operations, patient care continued to be top priority. Michael Mihora and his team received Press-Gainey’s top ten percent distinction in customer service as well as numerous state and national awards for patient care. After his work in Michigan, Michael Mihora moved to Hawaii, serving as Chief Executive Officer for Bay Clinic, Inc. before transitioning into his current position.
Michael Mihora rounds out his career in medical care operations with over ten years in executive roles, including Chief Operating Officer for health systems throughout Michigan and Ohio. For his first six years in healthcare, Michael Mihora focused on finance. Michael Mihora holds membership with the Medical Group Management Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
