About Me

Monica Nelson has donated her time and skills to different charities and community organizations throughout the years. She is currently involved in organizations that help those who need it the most, in her own community and in third world countries. Monica Nelson has been a member of Global Links, an organization that ships surplus American medical supplies to hospitals in third world countries. She also assisted in offering crisis intervention services to battered women at the Sojourner Truth House, a charity that provides shelter, safety, and support to domestic abuse victims. In addition, Monica Nelson has helped protect her community by serving as a volunteer for the American Red Cross Southwestern Pennsylvania Chapter as a Disaster Action Team member. This disaster-preparedness group provides immediate assistance to those affected by a disaster in their area. Monica Nelson received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University in Southern Wisconsin, where she studied Journalism. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and lace-making. She is also a keen athlete and is involved in rowing, cross-country skiing, and adventure travel. In the future, she would like to learn to surf and earn her pilot license.
