About Me

Robert Shindell began his career in higher education more than 13 years ago as a Leadership Consultant to the Pi Kappa Phi national fraternity. Since that time, Robert Shindell has found substantial success as a senior-level administrator to some of the nation’s largest and most diverse public universities. Recently, Robert Shindell leveraged his innovative management skills toward his position as Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services at Texas Tech University.

In his position, Robert Shindell implemented a number of initiatives that have greatly expanded the quality and scale of Texas Tech University’s incoming freshman and transfer student classes. Specifically, Robert Shindell focused on improving Texas Tech’s marketing and communications materials; developing new financial aid packages for incoming students; enhancing existing financial aid for current students; coordinating resources with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Texas Tech Board of Regents, and other organizations; and demonstrating more effort in high school and community college recruiting. Through his work, Robert Shindell caused a 15% increase in applications to Texas Tech, a 10% decrease in the admission rate, and the largest freshman and transfer classes in the history of the university.

Before he assumed the role of Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services, Robert Shindell served as Director of the Career Management Center (CMC) for Texas Tech’s Rawls College of Business. While in charge of CMC, Robert Shindell established positive relationships with over 500 new employers, oversaw the successful management of large college-specific career fairs each semester, and co-founded the Forum for Leadership Excellence, among many other accomplishments. Through his efforts, Robert Shindell achieved a “placement” rate of over 80% of undergraduate business students, 70% of MBA students, and an exceptional 100% of MS in Accounting students.

Outside of his work in the field of education, Robert Shindell serves as the Vice President of Marketing & Development for The Wetherbe Group in Austin, TX. Robert Shindell is currently in the final stages of earning his PhD in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University.
