I began employment with Navistar as an Administrative Assistant, was promoted to Executive Assistant, and later made the CHOICE to transfer into the factory to build engines. I was a single Mother with two children, and I needed doubled income and benefits offered by moving to factory work. As far as any transition difficulties, all I did was swap my high heels for steel toed shoes, cut off my fingernails, put my hair up and start building engines.

Since my children are adults, and I am laid off from the factory I consider this a prime opportunity for me return to being an administrative assistant! The successful transition between office and factory work has baffled a couple of prospects. The response was "are you for real"?

Yes is the answer. Who wouldn't want a secretary that can create stellar correspondence, spreadsheets and presentations AND fix their vehicle!
