getting my life pulled together - at work - at home - as a coach - taking it one step at a time - and I am determined to succeed!

About Me

My husband and I own and operate an auto repair shop - Williams Norwalk Tire & Alignment. While I mainly take care of behind the scenes work, I enjoy talking with the customers and building customer relations. I have had some customers comment that they selected our shop because of the attention that I gave them or the extra advice I offered.

I work on our business website - it is not like many others - but neither is our business. Check it out - www.williamsnorwalktire.com. I have had new customers tell me they came to us because of our website - they said it gave them more information than other websties, that they felt like they knew something about us, and liked the newsletters and customer testimonials. Customer testimonials are so important - I can tell you anything I want to entice you to become a customer - but it means more coming from an outsider who has experienced the great service first hand. I personally think their testimonials are priceless but carry great value.

I take care of all of our advertising needs - including working with social networking. I have listed our business on Facebook, Twellow, MerchantCircle, along with other numerous free listing sites. I also help create ads for our local newspapers.

I like to help others by sharing information - I am a member of LinkedIn - I started a group - Welcome to Norwalk, OH (Ohio) - it was created to help my community grow and prosper.

On BrightFuse, I am the administrator for Auto Repair Professionals; Classic Vehicles, Cars, Trucks, Etc.; Recipes - Share Your Favorites, along with a few other groups. I am also an active member in other groups - I try to help other groups grow. I enjoy facilitating the conversations and offering a service, my experience, and knowledge with my fellow group members. I enjoy doing this - and even though I am a current business owner, if someone offered me a part time postition on facilitating groups in other sites - I may consider it.

I am happily married to a wonderful man - we were married in 1980 - we work at the shop together and many people are amazed that we get along so well after spending the day together also. We have a daughter who is married and a son who helps at the shop.

I like to help my community. I enjoy helping the youth - seeing them grow and blossom is a reward in itself. My husband and I have been volunteers in our community for many years. We still help out. While we may not receive money - our reward is better - we have helped many youths through various programs - and hopefully made a positive impact on their lives.

Work Experience

  • May 1988 - present
    norwalk, OH (US)
    Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary
    Williams Norwalk Tire & Alignment
My husband and I own and operate Williams Norwalk Tire & Alignment. It is one of the larger shops in the Norwalk area offering services as simple as an oil change or as complicated as replacing or repairing an engine or transmission.

My responsibilities include secretarial work, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, etc. I enjoy working with customers. I work on the service counter as needed - wait on customers, create invoices & estimates, search for parts, etc. I have worked with Quickbooks and PeachTree Accounting.

I take care of advertising and promoting the business - this includes updating our website and online listings that allow me to do free advertising with more than just a name, address and phone number. I have been successful in moving my website from pages 10 and higher to page 1 and/or 2 in some of the major search engines - without adwords or paying for special placement.

I enjoy updating the generic sites, would enjoy doing it part time for other business owners to help their businesses become more visible on the net without a monthly fee.

    GTE (Verizon now)
I held various positions while I worked at GTE. I started while still in high school as a Repair Clerk, then as a Public Representative in the Phone Mart upon graduation. I then moved to the service center, taking service orders over the phone. I spent many of the years working directly with customers - taking orders for new service, moving, changes, etc. Another position was taking care of special projects - such as Equal Access (selecting own long distance carrier - I took care of the conflicts) and E911 implementation (updating the address databases so they coordinated with E911 equipment).

My last job was as an Administrative Assistant. I worked for the District Manager (including the customer hot-line) and for the Project Administrator.
